Lake Shore Electric
Wood Coach # 151
Lake Shore Electric Coach 151 was built in 1906 by the Niles Car Company. It is part of a group of cars incorporating then-new multiple-unit controls commonly used on rapid transit trains today. The car ran until LSE’s abandonment in 1938. On May 14th of that year it became the last wooden interurban to depart from Cleveland on a scheduled run. It was used as a work shop in Norwalk, Ohio until the mid-1990’s when it went to the Grand Rapids Electric Railway Museum. It was then acquired by NORM in 1999.
