Shaker Heights Rapid Transit
Car # 31

Shaker Heights Rapid Transit Car # 31 was built by the Kuhlman Car Company of Cleveland, Ohio in 1914. It was one of the center-door cars adapted for rapid transit service in 1920. In 1949 it was further altered into a one man PAYE (pay as you enter) style car with the addition of a front door. After being retired from service in 1955 the car was given a deck roof on the rear half and used as a line greasing car. It survived in this function until retirement.
