The Oceanside Station is located at 195 South Tremont Street, in the Oceanside Transit Center. This station is served daily by up to twenty-five southbound trains to San Diego, seventeen northbound trains to Los Angeles, with five of those continuing to Goleta, and one to both San Luis Obispo and San Bernardino. In addition to these, one all-reserved seasonal Beach Train operates to Rialto via San Bernardino on weekends during the Summer Schedule. Finally, one all-reserved Amtrak thruway bus departs for Bakersfield via Los Angeles and the Newhall Metrolink Station.
Metrolink Prices range from $2.25 to
$309.00 depending on the time of day traveled, and the number of zones thru which
you are traveling. Single Trip and
Roundtrips are valid for purchase on the date of departure only. Ten-trip Metrolink Punch Tickets are valid
for 90 days from the time of purchase and must be validated in silver post
machines on the platform before boarding the train. Most Metrolink service will depart from the platform farthest
from the station. Additionally, some
of the Metrolinks do depart from the east platform closest to the station.
Monthly passes are valid for travel
within the calendar month only between the zones listed on the ticket. These tickets are also useable on Amtrak
Pacific Surfliners.
Single Trip tickets and Ten-Ride
validations are valid for three hours from the time of purchase or
validation. On round-trips, the return
portion of the ticket is valid until 11:59P of the operating date only.
Coaster ticket prices range from $0.75 to
$130.00 depending on the ticket type purchased and the number of fare zones
thru which the passenger is traveling.
Single trip, Single Trip Transfer Upgrade, Round Trip, and Ten-Trip
tickets are valid for 90 days from the date of purchase and must be validated
in the Red Posts on the station platforms prior to boarding the train.
Mid-Day, Friday Night, and Saturday
service can tend to be extremely popular, and arriving at the station up to 45
minutes ahead of the departure time to purchase your ticket and safely board
the train is recommended. In addition,
some Coaster Trains will both board and depart from the platform farthest from
the depot.
Most Coaster Trains will board from the
east platform closest to the Transit Center.
Currently, as of Late 2002, you have the
choice of up to twenty-five southbound trains to San Diego and seventeen
northbound trains to Los Angeles. Up
to five of the northbound trains proceed beyond Los Angeles to provide thru
service to Goleta, and one northbound train provides thru service to San Luis
Obispo. An additional northbound train
operates to San Bernardino serving Surfliner stations between Oceanside and
Santa Ana.
