SORRENTO VALLEY STATION
CITY PROFILE
The Sorrento Valley Station is located at
11170 Sorrento Valley Road.
The Coaster on weekdays and Saturdays
serves this station, with additional late night train service on baseball
nights and during special events or concerts, as well as New Year’s Eve. Modified schedules are operated on
Thanksgiving Friday consisting of eight trains each direction. When selected major holidays fall on a
Sunday, the Coaster does not run on Sundays or Holidays, however, when the extra
supplemental holiday law is in force, the supplemental holiday sees train
operation on a reduced schedule of six trains (eight if the holiday is a
Saturday, and the supplemental holiday comes first.)
FlexCars are available at this
station. FlexCar Representatives are
located at the station to assist passengers in locating the vehicles.
Bus routes 971, 972, 973, 974, 975, and
981 board in the bus service arcade, which is on the street side of the
station.
Bus routes 976, 977, 978, and 982 board
across the Los Peñasquitos Creek on Roselle Street, accessible via the south
platform and the pedestrian bridge.
Restaurants: A strip mall with a Sub
Marina, as well as other dining establishments is located on Roselle Street,
just west of the Southbound Interstate 5 Freeway Entrance Ramp.
All Shuttles operate a longer schedule on
Fridays due to heavier traffic, and the schedule operates up to ten minutes
earlier. Service hours for each route
will reflect this. This operating policy affects Afternoon trips only; morning
service operates without change due to the early hours of the day when the
buses are operating.
Pay phones are located at various
locations.
This station does not currently have soft drink or juice machines.
The access crossing at the south end of
the station platform is closed due to construction currently in progress on the
freeway bridges above.
University of California at San Diego has
shuttle buses that meet all trains, where the Coaster connections meet only
selected trains. Trains with times on
the schedule that are shown with a star (*) on the timetable have no shuttle
service. This applies to mid-day, late night, Saturday, or Special event
trains.
