car. The wheelchair boarding on
low-floor cars may be accessed from the center doors on each car, where the
wheelchair lift boarding is from the leading door on the leading car only. Blue
Accessibility squares are painted on the station platform, station side on
track #1 and Coaster Side on track #2.
Note:
Retractable U-2 Model Car Steps will not deploy at Old Town due to the height
of the station platform.
Yellow
directional mats are also located on the station platforms next to the blue
squares to guide visually impaired riders to the nearest train doors.
S-70
Car Ramp Deployment: Both of the center
doors of each car on S=70 equipped train consists have blue buttons located
near the doors. Pressing the blue button will deploy an accessibility bridge
plate to allow a wheelchair rider to board the train.
Wheelchair

wheel chairs. The new S-70 sets on the
Green Line have a total capacity between both cars on the train of 8
wheelchairs (four per car). This capacity is increased to twelve wheelchairs
during special events when a third car is added to these sets. Each S-70 car has four wheelchair stations
inside.
Notice
for Coaster Wheelchair Users:
Coaster
trains will board wheelchairs from mini-high platforms on the station platform.
The conductor deploys a manual ramp to provide a bridge between the train and
the station platform. Due to the trains
all being five cars, it is temporarily necessary to make a second spot to place
the train in the proper position for the ramp. Please wait for an appropriate precede
signal from the train conductor before boarding the train.
Notice
for Surfliner Wheelchair Users:
THERE
