Munson, Ohio - Cleveland & Eastern Right-of-Way
The Junction

Located in a remote area near the confluence of the upper branches of the Chagrin River, the Junction is a place where the Chardon and Middlefield routes of the Cleveland & Eastern diverged. The photo was taken looking northwest from the Middlefield branch. The narrow 'wye' where the line split was out of the photo to the left. The Interurban Trail curves to the right here, following the Chardon right-of-way northeast for about 1/2 mile. The Junction served as a transfer point between the two lines and had a passenger station in the center of the wye and a freight station with its own siding off to the left. There was also another a structure which housed storage batteries (and later an electrical substation) off to the right.
