Built in 1912 by the American Locomotive Company. This is a 2-6-6-2 Mallet compound locomotive and was designed to haul through freight trains over the mountains before the mountain divisions of The Milwaukee Road were electrified. Locomotives of this type have since been modernized for present day freight service and are now numbered in the series 50 to 66 inclusive.
