In one of those great catch lashups, CN SD75I #5629 leads Conrail SD40-2 #6430 and a Norfolk Southern C30-7 at Beare. At the time of the photo, the CSX/NS split of Conrail was not even dreamed of. |

Climbing the Oak Ridges Moraine, flanges squeal as southbound #336 with the 5638 and 6018 twist through the S-curve at mileage 38. |

The last rays of light glint off a eastbound CN stack train. The middle unit is a stanger to the Kingston Sub, a Conrail (ex. EL) SD45-2. In a few months though, most of the 13 SD45-2's would be on lease to CN, making a repeat of this shot possible. |

Nearly new at the time, the 5659 leads HLCX SD40-3 6058 past Beare siding on #361. HLCX 6058 is in familiar territory as it is a former CN SD40. |
