The Steam Railroading Institute of Owosso, Mich., in cooperation with the Tuscola & Saginaw Bay Railway (TSBY), operated "North Pole Express" trains on weekends in November and December using the Pere Marquette 1225 steam locomotive for power. The 1941 Lima Berkshire is owned by the Michigan State Trust for Railway Preservation and is used on several excursions each year over TSBY trackage. The North Pole Express ran from the Steam Railroading Institute's facility in Owosso to the fairground in Chesaning, about 14 miles north of Owosso. |
