On 18 May 2002 the Chicago & Northwestern Historical Society toured the Illinois Transit Assembly Company's Madison, IL shops housed in part of the old C&NW Madison Yard.  Numerous privately owned passenger cars are stored and worked on here.  Below are thumbnails of a fraction of the old passenger cars they have on site.  Click on a thumbnail for a full sized pic.
