GP40TC 199 in Wilmington DE
Below is a photo of GP40TC #199 at Amtrak's Wilmington, DE shops - by Doug Allen.
The 199 was the first GP40TC to undergo an extensive rebuild to prepare the loco
for work train service. New addtions included the installation of a rear red flashing
strobe, along with ditchlights on the front and rear. The locomotive has track
receiver bars on the rear now so it can operate in reverse as the lead loco on
trains. In these pictures, the front plate is still on the 199, but it has been
taken off for the installation of the ditchlights.
