McCloud Rails : Passenger Operations: Excursion Photos
Civil War Trains McCloud became home to an annual Civil War Re-enactment around 2000. This has become a popular yearly event in McCloud. The events include battles between Union and Confederate soldiers for control of the town. The railroad runs passenger specials up the hill, carrying both troops from one side or the other and paying passengers. The train is ambushed somewhere along the line by the other side, the train is captured, and the victors ride the train back down to McCloud, only to lose the train again on the next trip.
