Near Lookout, CA, 6/1999. As part of the State of California’s 125th birthday, the California State Railroad Museum held Railfair 1999, the third such gala event to be held at the museum grounds (the first was in 1981 to celebrate the opening of the museum, and the second was in 1991 to celebrate the tenth anniversary. One of the invited guests that journeyed to the event was former Southern Pacific #4449. The #4449 made the trip to Sacramento over the BNSF line, and on 13 June 1999 the #37 and #25 pulled a special excursion to Lookout Junction to meet the #4449.
