This GP10 served the railhead at Fort Hood (now Fort Cavazos) for many years, spotting the flatcars used by deploying units.
This unit was eventually relocated to Fort Eustis, where it helps train Army railroad crews. At some point, its nose marker lights were blanked out, and it received a fresh coat of paint. It no longer wears the Directorate of Logistics (DOL) logo on the battery boxes.
