Lakeshore Model Railroaders' Association

Lakeshore Model Railroaders' Association is a model railroad club with a large HO scale layout under construction in Etobicoke (Toronto), and runs the spring and fall L.M.R.A. Flea Markets - at 20,000 square feet the largest model train flea markets in Canada.

Club History

The Lakeshore Model Railroaders’ Association (L.M.R.A.) was founded in 1954.

The club is in year 7 of an ambitious plan to build a large 25 x 50’ double deck layout that circles the room with a large centre island.

We are located near 31st street on Lake Shore Boulevard in south Etobicoke.

We usually meet on Monday nights between approximately 7 pm and 11 pm. We have 24/7 access and often come down at other times.

We do not follow, nor run a strict prototypic era or type of layout, though the emphasis is on the steam to diesel transition period in Canada.

If you have ever wanted to use your skills or learn new ones working on a large club layout from the ground up, well this may be your opportunity. Bench work, wiring, track and all manner of scenery, on two levels: you name it; we have to do it all! We have no “rivet counters” or “put down artists” and do not seek any! We do not have a million rules and regulations and our monthly dues are very reasonable. We do ask that you be at least 18 years old.

We believe model railroading can be fun if you share, support and encourage others.
