at Camp Elkanah ~ June 18 - 20, 1999
Camp Elkanah, Oregon ~ a former logging railroad camp
We lived in these skid shacks (left) and camp cars (right)
The camp cars were built in the 30�s on 1899 (this one) flatcars
The �Bethlehem 4� ~ �Engineer Jeff,� Hiromi, �Bindle Jim,� and me,
�Jersey George.� Guess which one of us forgot to pack his bindle...
The food was great (thanks Sonia) and bull sessions abounded in the dining car
Merv working his 1/8th scale donkey ~ what a treat to watch
Merv made sure all willing volunteers were assigned a job
We had wonderful weather for Sunday�s railfan trip
