Centennial Station is the Amtrak stop for Olympia and Lacey Washington. The station is located on the active Cascades corridor between Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon and is serviced by 8 Amtrak trains daily. The double track line is owned by Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) and can host up to 20 freight trains per day. In addition, Union Pacific (UP) has trackage rights on the line and runs an additional 10 to 20 freight trains per day. Tacoma Rail now operates the local rail service for several branches in the area and runs a local 3-4 days a week by the station. The totals from the 4 railroads can be as many as 40-50 trains per day. Below are rail cam shots for the last trains to pass.

The Centennial Rail Cam is not a perfect science. The shaking of an opposing train may set the opposite direction motion detector off. Thus a southbound train may be captured by the camera facing north or visa-versa. Also, wind storms cause erratic results as the motion detector is often activated.
