Looking south off of bridge into Manchester Yard in March 1999. | Looking north off of bridge. The line that goes toward the top of the picture and then curves to the left appears to be the Lineville Subdivision. The track that curves away from the swich and up and to the right is the Fitzgerald Subdivision. Notice the new ballst on the track. The ties next to the tracks are new. |
Two old CSX 4-axle GEs in Manchester, GA yard in 1995. These locomotives could be seen here almost every weekend during the summer of 1995. A CSX employee told me that they were used in sand train service to and from Southeastern Alabama. The locomotive on the left has faded L&N markings on it. | Old SCL GE in Manchester, GA yard in 1995. By 1997, you couldn't find these locomotives in Manchester on weekends. |
