Every 5 years, the largest Live Steam meet is held at various locations. The 2000 IBLS (International Brotherhood of Live Steamers) meet was the largest yet. It began August 10th, 2000 and lasted almost a month. The meet followed the west coast of the United States and Canada. Beginning in Vancouver British Columbia at the Burnaby Central Railway, the meet continued all the way down the coast ending up in the Los Angeles Live Steamers in southern California. Truly an international meet, locomotives, rolling stock and other equipment all converged on this small area of the globe. People as far as Australia, Central Africa and Europe attended the meet.
