John Bradley -
Profile
Born in the UK, John started his
first loco "Tich" whilst still an apprentice, when he moved to South Africa in
1968, he left his loco behind. In 1980 he started building again and chose
Martin Evans' "Jinty" as the loco to build. Without the use of a mill or a lathe
he made the frames, stretches and cylinder block from stock utilising only
hand tools. He then purchased a "Maximat" lathe and finished
it off over the next 3 years.
His next loco was Nigel Gresley's V2
Class, a 2-6-2 of which the most famous of the class was "Green
Arrow"
John's most recent project, started in <date>, is "Ariel" a rebuilt
Merchant Navy Class from Keith Wilson's project serialized in the Model
Engineer.
