HO scale "scratchbashed" Swift Reefer The Swift Reefer Project
Swift Reefer Model by Jim Fuhrman
This model was scratchbashed.  Except for the side panels, rescued from a Tyco reefer, and the MDC metal underframe, this model is all scratch built from styrene and some detail parts on the end panels and underframe.  Greg painted and decaled the model, then added the aging and weathering with his airbrush.
This model has been displayed at many RPM meets across the country, and was featured in an article in Manline Modeler.

Underframe: center sills built up, ribs added, full brake rigging.  Trucks are original Tyco with the coupler pockets removed and Kadee wheelsets.

Hatches: built up from strip styrene.
Roofwalks:individual sytrene strip boards
Ladders: styrene rails with wire grabs.
Ends: scribed styrene sheet, ladder castings, and Nut-Bolt-Washer castings with brake Ajax and platform.
