Here are some pics from my visit to the Amtrak service facility in Indianapolis and a steam excursion from Indy to Bloomington.
This was an amazing experience. This is a huge facility and although it is operating at a fraction of its capacity, it is still a busy place. Engines and passenger cars are serviced here.
These were taken in the fall of 1993 between Indy and Bloomington. The last pic is the view as we went over a 100 ft. high trestle.

The two pics below are from a coal train derailment behind my work on the Northeast side of Indianapolis on Thursday 7-13-00. Six cars at the end of the train came off the track - nobody was hurt.
