Klamath Northern- Klamath Northern Snowplow

Klamath Northern
Snowplow

The Klamath Northern has owned very little of its own on-rail equipment except for the locomotives. One of the few pieces the company does own is this snowplow, which the railroad built from the tender salvaged from the scrapped steam locomotive #204. John Henderson captured the following photographs of the plow in Gilchrist. All are from the Jeff Moore collection.

The original tender mated to the #204 arrived in Oregon in poor condition, which prompted the Gilchrist family to purchase a new tender from Baldwin to replace it. This is the builder's plate attached to the replacement tender.

In the summer of 1998, Rob Jacox found the plow with a fresher coat of paint than what John found several years earlier.
