I recently took up the opportunity to convert some of what is on this website into a new forthcoming book. Eastern Oregon Shortline Railroads will have an introduction to shortline railroading in the region, followed by individual chapters on each of the major railroads and one chapter on the more minor carriers. Each chapter on the covered railroads will have a general corporate and operatonal history, a map, photographs, and a locomotive roster. There will be plenty in the book not on this website. The book is published by Fonthill Media and distributed in the U.S. through Arcadia Publishing/The History Press. It is scheduled to be released on 3 October 2016.
