Various manufacturers built these 12 cars in 1902 for the city of Cleveland, OH. They were purchased in 1916 by the HSR, and were sent to the Preston Car & Coach company to be rebuilt. HSR #479 and #481 were destroyed in a severe fire at the Preston plant on Jan. 7, 1917, before ever entering service. The remaining 10 cars were retired and scrapped in 1934
