2026 marks the 25th anniversary of Hamilton Transit History!
So first I update my article on What if the HSR had kept its Streetcars? using the recently researched info I found while writing my article on The End of Streetcar Service on the HSR. But in the process of double checking a couple of things I realize I need to write a couple more paragraphs on that article, So I did. I've also broken out the section in that article on the Birch Avenue boneyard into a seperate article, and made a quick update to the maps page. Enjoy!
We've partnered up with The Sirman Collection and Vintage Rail Photos to offer you prints of the HSR! Each photo available now has a link that will provide you with contact info so you can buy your own high quality print.
This website is a description of public transit in the Hamilton, Ontario region, past, present and future (Hopefully!), and is updated at the start of each month. This is NOT the official Hamilton Street Railway website, and is in no way affiliated with the HSR or the City of Hamilton. The HSR’s official website is here.
