The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History in Kennesaw, GA is excited to
announce the return of its biggest,
most popular event of the year—Trains, Trains, Trains!— on Saturday, January 25, and Sunday, January 26, 2025.
The 2025 event will feature the Museum’s biggest model train display to date along with train-themed activities
and historic trains.
The model train layouts will come in all sizes and feature a variety of themes, many of which have
interactive buttons to delight young visitors. Railroad artifacts will be on display for visitors to hold,
touch and discover how they were used.
For those looking to take something home, the General Emporium, the Museum’s gift shop, will more than double
in size for the event with a variety of train-themed items, from clothing and collectibles to toys and model
trains, perfect for train enthusiasts, kids and fans of history!
Museum operating hours for the event are from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Regular admission is $10 for adults,
$8 for seniors (ages 65+), and $5 for children (ages 3 to 17), active duty, reserves, guard, and
retired military personnel (with ID) and university students (with ID). Tickets are available online.
Admission for Museum members is always free!

Weekends: The NRHS and Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth,
Georgia is open and offers caboose rides. It is home to the NRHS (National Railway
Historical Society) Atlanta Chapter.

November is National Model railroading month. About 50 Piedmont Division
NMRA members in north Georgia with layouts will
be hosting open houses at various times every Saturday and Sunday in November.

The Southern Museum (full name: The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive
History) located in Kennesaw, Georgia has rolled out it's "General-II" for use in youth programs.
Other kids programs are coming. The Education Center is now open. It also hosts Kennesaw
Historical Society talks, and is a Smithsonian Affiliate museum hosting S.I.T.E.S. traveling
exhibits.

The North Atlanta Trade Center or NATS (formerly a Richway Store)
in Norcross, Georgia is just east of I-85. It is the site of many railroad-themed shows

The Marietta Museum of History is located off the square in Marietta, Georgia
within a dozen yards of the A&W (CSX) railroad tracks. It is in the building where James
Andrews stayed and plotted to steal the locomotive "General" during the Civil War.
