The Large Scale Trains Page

by George Schreyer

Notice

The Large Scale Trains Page has moved to a new home. As of 19 September 2002, this version of the Large Scale Trains Page is obsolete and will not be updated. However, it will remain here on TrainWeb in its current form for as long as the kind folks at TrainWeb wish it to remain.

Please bookmark the new link so that you can have access to all future updates. I finally sprung for my own domain and hosting service so that the rest of my family can maintain their own pages as well. If your site has links to this page, you might want to update them.

This site is primarily devoted to Large Scale model trains although several other railroad related topics have crept in. Since I can't share my railroad and railroad experiences with very many people in person, I will instead virtually share my humble railroad through the magic of the Internet. Grab a beer, pull up a chair and plan to stay awhile, there are many hours worth of reading available here.

Large scale model trains are those that run on #1 gauge (45 mm) track. The actual scale can vary from 1:13.5 for trains that represent 2' gauge prototypes to 1:32 for those that represent standard gauge prototypes. The popular designation of "G" scale falls into this more general "Large Scale" category.
