Note that the unit was mentioned by an NRE employee as being ex-UP 9961, EMD GP40, former UP 679, MKT 244, CR 3139, orig. PC 3139, built Sept. 1968, b/n 34316, f/n 7127-35. I believe this is not correct, and have used the frame number data for the unit history.
