Though PHL has announced that they are getting low-emissions single engine locomotives from Motive-Power (see this press release) they didn't say anything about NRE gensets. Nevertheless, news that they were ordering two 3GS21B's and one 3GS21C was reported in the Trains Magazine special "Locomotive 2007" edition. |

Nearly complete PHL 34 was spotted at NRE's Mt. Vernon, IL facility in mid-December 2007. Thanks to Mark Mautner for the sighting and photos. Build date is not confirmed yet. |
