Ferrymead Railway commerates restoration of the Heritage Train with collector's edition book

Ferrymead Railway marked the 140th anniversary of New Zealand railways with the launch of the Railway's Heritage Train - a completely restored train set from the 1800s  (See complete story.) and souvenir book.

The story of the history and restoration of the Heritage Train has been documented in a limited-edition book, The Heritage Train - chronicle of a railway restoration project by the Canterbury Railway Society Inc.

This book is nearly 40 pages and describes in detail the meticulous workmanship that went into the restoration project.  It is filled with colour photographs of the train set including rare antique photos of this and similar rolling stock in use.

Copies of the Herutage Train book are $10 plus $1.50 postage and handling (NZ$10 + NZ$3.00 for international orders), and are available by sending a cheque to:
