NOTES AND INFO:

The F7's of the WM were probably the most popular diesels among WM fans. WM's roster featured two F3's (#51, 52, built 1947) that were upgraded to F7 by EMD in 1954. Three other lineups of F7s were on the roster, series 53-66, built 1950, series 231-242, built 1953, and F7 B units 401-414. The units were all originally 1500 hp but the F7B units were later upgraded to 1750 hp. All of these units remained in WM paint and led regularly scheduled freights until around 1979, when they were mostly sold for scrap by the Chessie System. WM 236 remains, preserved and operational at the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore MD.
