Notes

11.01.2004: Inbound Empire Builder with P42DC 171 was bad-ordered due to no sanding valve. It seemed to have disappeared, so 171 was set out to Track 1, and the P32-8BWH 511 filled in for #28.

11.02.2004: The Coast Starlight #14 arriving into Portland was involved in a train-vs-truck collision just miles away from Salinas, California. The truck driver, as usual, was at fault, and the locomotive (unknown number at this time) had cosmetic damage. No serious injuries or derailment, train continued on.

11.03.2004: Cascades #508 of today, running Portland-to-Seattle had P42DC 171 pushing the trainset. The F59PHI 454 on yesterday's #504(02) was bad-ordered due to severe flat spots on the wheels, a U.P. freight engine was used, but derailed by the time the train made it out of Eugene. That train was annulled, and train #507(NOV02) was annulled in Portland, turned to run as #508(02) to Seattle. The UP locomotive pushed the Talgo train for today's #504(03) Eugene-to-Portland, where the repaired P42DC 171 filled in.

11.09.2004: Coast Starlight #14 with locomotives 54/119 was involved in an incident just north of Eugene, Oregon. A person committed suicide by walking along the tracks, and remaining there when Amtrak came.

11.10.2004: Empire Builder came in with defective P42DC #191, will be replaced by the P42 #188 that was dropped off here for the American Orient Express.
