Members John Youngworth, Jay Freet, and Charlie Yoakam (of Local BR549) discuss the future work on the mainline ballast project. We have received word that Storey Rail Contractors has been awarded the contract.

Pastor GJ Freet is bringing the message entitled, "Love your neighbor" or "Can't we all just get along." Next week's sermon is entitled "You can't take it with you!" Oh, Liberty is a sleepy little town, but you better not be sleeping in church if you know what I mean.


Jan 10, 2006 - The latest issue of Model Railroader is due to hit the stands real soon. The boys have backed up the box truck for loading. They're headed for John Hall's True Value Hardware Store.

Many changes are also taking place at the EMRC. Members are working to update various districts of the club layout or "pike". Work continues on the both the N-Scale and HO-Scale Pikes:

January 21, 2007 UPDATE
Web site updates.
The Web site look has been changed. We'll be working to update images as time permits.

We just completed our first operating session. We're using carcards and waybills. We plan to post more information on the operating scheme in the near future.

April 2 , 2006 UPDATE

  • The 2006 show was a big success!

January 10, 2006 UPDATE

  • We began extensive work on the N-scale pike
    • the hole was filled in and some industrial sidings were installed for upcoming operations
    • track has been laid and ballasting is in progress (see new images in N-scale section)
  • Yoakam Salvage has begun receiving all kinds of junk including a half dozen old cars that are in various states of decline. Most of them are so beat up you can barely tell what make and model they are. (See new images in HO section)
  • The intermodel yard received some fresh ground cover and is coming along nicely
  • Facia around the entire pike is being replaced by Charlie Yoakam and Paul Ewing.

April 8, 2005

APRIL 05, 2005 UPDATE

  • A new contract agreement has been reached and it looks like ballasting will begin soon.
  • Yoakam Salvage gets permit for operation of salvage yard to operate in Mishawaka (located on the north wall)
  • We are running an operating schedule on the north wall. Look for more information coming.
  • We just wrapped up our first train show. WOW, what a great time we all had meeting all of you and hosting the show. Special thanks to Borkholder Dutch Village. Mark and Scott you guys were great. We look forward to our 2006 train show, scheduled for March 18, 2006.

March 2005

  • The Gran Siesta Motel along Route 35 is open for business. Rates are $35.00 per night and they offer free Telemundo to their guests. Click HERE for an Image. Celebrate Tejano Tuesday's at the Siesta Motel where kids stay for 1/2 price. Don't like the smell from the farm? Keep the windows closed, it's not so bad. Click here for Spanish version.
  • Work is underway to complete an engine facility at the west end of the Charles C. Hammes Yard. Click HERE for Image.
    (Charlie Hammes has been a member of the EMRC since 1959.)
  • Ballast work on the N-Scale layout is almost finished.
  • We've contacted the BRMOWW (Brotherhood of Railroad Maintenance of Way Workers) local BR549 and mainline ballast work will begin as soon as their new contract is ratified.
