I was stationed with the US Army Security Agency (ASA) at Kagnew Station near Asmara.  This tour of duty ran from March 1961 through November 1962.  Hence, my interest in Eritrea.

My father, Erwin, was a Signal Maintainer for the Chicago and North Western Railway.  I spent my whole life around the railroad.  Hence, my interest in railways.

Renato Gaudio posted several pictures of Littorine, the FIAT built railcars which ran on the line.

The sites about the ASA and Kagnew Station combined with Renato's pictures and my background to open my interest in my line.  My only regret about this whole thing is that I didn't have the interest while I was there.

Several people have sent me pictures and links.  I have my person experiences which looking back over my own pictures and those contributed have allowed me to reconstruct my memory.
