Who am I
I am Ralph Reinhold, an Infrared/Optical Systems Design Engineer working
for a major Defense Contractor. I live in North Alabama. I
have a couple of advanced degrees in Optical Sciences and Sensors.
I model the Chicago &
North Western's Narrow Gauge which ran through Southern Wisconsin up
until the mid 1920s. I have had a couple of articles about my cars
published in Finescale
Railroader.
My interest in railroads comes from my father, grandfather and few uncles
and cousins who all worked for the Chicago and North Western. The
picture shows my father at Necedah, Wisconsin, at about the time I was
in Eritrea. It is interesting to note the architecture of the old
depot behind him compared with the Eritrean railroad buildings.
One thing is immediately clear, there was more wood in America.
My interest in Eritrea comes from having spent about 22 months there
while I was in the US Army Security Agency.
