Notes: 1. This Class renunibered again when certain engines were rebuilt with superheaters. See below. The rernaining engine of this Class No. 441.110 was rebuilt post-war to a compound Mallet.
2 No. 441.106, No. 441.101, No. 441.201 and No. 441.204 were sent to Libya by the British Army in I944 to work on the Benghazi, Barce &Solluch Ry. This line is now the Cyrenaican Government R.y. One of the engines is still in service.

I939-I940 Rebuilding of 441 Class

The intention was to rebuild locomotives No. 44r.001 to No. 441.008 with superheaters. No. 441.101 to No. 441.103 were originally constructed superheated and the rebuilt engines were to be numbered in this series. Only four engines were completed before the Italians were defeated.
