Valley before the Flats
Between Ghinda and the Flats, the rail line takes a large loop where
it follows a usually dry river valley for quite a ways. After this
river joins with another, it is called Yangus Shet'. I assume as
this branch is longer that this is the name of the river.
Camel caravans which followed this route to the top of the mountains
from ancient times still followed it in 1962. I have been told that
they are found yet today.
Here the river valley turns away from the railway. It will meet
this river again in the flats.

I believe the picture above is from the village of Mai Atal which comes
just at the end of the valley shown in my pictures..
