The detail above shows the letters 'D.' and 'L.' above the respective
doors. Since the D was on the left, this could't have meant 'right'.
I wrote Renato and asked. As usual, he provided me with the obvious,
'D.L.'" means "Deposito Locomotive" which is Italian for Engine
House.

The above picture from Asmara
Style reflects the station area in the 1920s...judging from the
lady's clothing. I thought the awning on the locomototive was interesting
touch.
This view shows the turntable and some of the tracks and a turnout
at the Asmara yards. This was taken on my November 1961 trip.
