Arrival of the Littorine

The first two Littorine arrived in Massawa in 1935. The above pictures shows A60, the first of the two, being unloaded. The second set of Littorine arrived in Massawa on May 5, 1936. These were numbers A62 through A70.

The above sequence are frames from a Luce Newsreel commemorating the arrival of the Littorine in Massawa. The video came from Renato Gaudio. He also provided material from the jacket. The statement on this sequence was:
The picture (below) was provided by Renato Gaudio. It shows the
first Eritrean Littorina arriving in the mid-1930s. It is interesting
that the littorina is taller and almost as large as containers

This is probably part of the shipment in the newsreel.. This
is captioned someplace as the first Littorina. . When time permits, this
will be posted in an abreviated-downloaded version of the video.
