SPERRY RAIL SERVICE 140 BEING UNLOADED AT THE DORRIGO STEAM RAILWAY & MUSEUM |
Built by Sperry Rail Service in Danbury, CT, USA in 1966 from an R-33 subway car shell, SRS 140 was shipped to Australia in September 1976 where it has remained ever since. Retired c.1990, it was acquired by the Dorrigo Steam Railway & Museum in Dorrigo, New South Wales, Australia shortly thereafter. Stored in a safe remote location for approximately 10 years, it was moved to the museum property in May 2000. It is hoped that one day 140 can be restored to operating condition. Thanks to Trevor Edmonds of Sydney, Australia for contributing this view of SRS 140 for use on this site. |
