LONDON & PORT STANLEY RAILWAY FOUR CAR TRAIN |
My father caught this southbound four-car passenger train on July 26, 1953 at what appears to be Glanworth. During the summer months, four and five car trains were kept busy hustling picnicers and bathers back and forth between London and the beach at Port Stanley. The train consists of motor car #12, two wooden trailer cars and another motor car. The pantograph seen over the middle of the train belongs to car #2 which is sitting on the passing track. Car 2 is on a railfan charter on this date and a few of the riders have positioned themselves to record this scene on film. |
