LONDON & PORT STANLEY RAILWAY PASSENGER TRAILER 23 |
A relatively rare view of L&PS 23 showing the large windows on the rear of the car (note lack of pilot - top of roof mounted headlight can be seen on opposite end). The end seen here is normally coupled next to the car it is operating with, usually #16 which is coupled to the front end for some unknown reason. My father took this view at the L&PS London car shops on May 2, 1948. L&PS 23 was formerly The Milwaukee Electric Railway and Light Co. (TMER&L) 1134, ex 'Waubeesee'. The body of the car is now part of a cottage at 34 Alberta Street, Grand Bend, Ontario. Photos of cottage. |
My fathers reflection can be seen in the mirror as he takes this picture of the interior of #23 on May 2, 1948 at the L&PS London car shops. For more about these cars and the TMER&L, visit Don Ross' site |
