CANADIAN PACIFIC TRANSPORT CO. 18 |
CPT18 was the only CPT Twin Coach 38S to be built in Canada by Fleet Aircraft of Fort Erie, Ontario, under license. Originally built with both a front and rear exit door, the rear door was removed in the early 1950's when 18 was converted for school bus service. The longitudinal seats over the wheel wells were replaced by back-to-back forward and rear facing seats. The rest of the seating remained the same except for the addition of a seat at the location of the former rear door. Of the nine Twin Coach 38S buses in the CPT fleet, 18 was my favourite because it was different from the rest in that it had a slightly darker shade of cream than the others, bolder lettering on the outside of the bus, as well as on the destination sign. The bolder lettering was later applied on the outside of a few of the other Twin's as they required repainting. |
