EPSOM & EWELL MODEL RAILWAY CLUB
HORTON REGIS
|
This 7mm finescale layout is a long term project being undertaken by a small
group of modellers within the Club.
An extensive collection of locomotives and rolling stock at the groups disposal,
of London & South Western Railway (LSWR) Adams/Drummond origin,
sets the period of the layout in the early 1900's with a theoretical
location for Horton Regis as somewhere on the east Dorset coast. As
at Bournemouth, there is also the presence of the Somerset &
Dorset Joint Railway, including through Midland Railway carriages.
Operationally the layout is fully functional, basic ground work and scenery have
been completed, and the construction of the major buildings is
currently in hand. Much detail work however, including the signaling,
remains outstanding. This will keep members participating in this
club project occupied for some months to come.
