Class 25 diesel locomotive number 25036 had the honour of ending Rowrah's
link to the railway network when the tracks serving the limestone quarries
and iron ore mines of this region were lifted. Some of the former trackbed
has been converted into cycleways, which are ideal for all ages and abilities,
being built to the gentlest of grades. |
