2008 Dunedin Model Train Show - Upstairs Layouts
Layout # 10 -Lego Trains. 2008 is the 50th Anniversary of Lego!
Upstairs was LEGO Trains, with very busy scenes.
Layout # 11 - The Stamping Ground
Just beside Lego Trains, was The Stamping Ground
The area of LEGO and The Stamping Ground was always two to three deep with viewers -
no wonder these two layouts took the most votes from the public.
Layout # 12 - Wee West
Next was Wee West, a seemingly plain desert scene...
that was actually very well detailed.
Layout # 13
Sorry, this layout was not viewable at our 2008 show.
Layout # 14 - The Fairlie Branch
Opposite was The Fairlie Branch, the largest scale trains at the show.
There was great modelling and detail, and some very surprising sound effects.
Layout # 15 - Stoney River Junction
Two N layouts complemented the end of the show, one of those being Stoney River Junction.
This layout featured a freelance Australian bush setting consisting of a country station,
yard and farm, together with a mainline station and goods yard.
Layout # 16 - The Long B & T Railway
The other N Gauge layout at the end of the show was The Long B & T Railway.
This ran very well, until The Long B & T Railway decided at one stage to keep derailing.
Suddenly, the viewers were four deep while the operator struggled to get his train up and running!
There were also 7 Traders downstairs, and 3 upstairs that were well patronised.
The Coffee Guy sold hot drinks to those who needed them.
Overall the 2008 show was a great success!
The American Modular Group of Dunedin would like to thank everyone who came along, including viewers, modellers, traders, and volunteers. We hope to see you all again in 2010 for our next show.
