I attended the RPM meet but only on Saturday. It was a good time and for a first time attendee, an eye opener. As should be expected, the modeling was first rate. I displayed MP 2084 and 13610 along with a Branchline TP 50' box car just to say I was there. MP 2084 may have been modeled to this level but the other two certainly aren't.Let me apologize to the fine modelors for not being prepared to record their information to go with these photos. They certainly should be recognized for their efforts. If you know who built any of these models and would care to pass that on to me I'd appreciate it. I'll add it to this page.
Here is what I really enjoy. This modelor shows the steps he took to reproduce the sides for this car and has photos and documentation to back it up. There were several similar displays and they add a lot to the models for me.
An awesome pulpwood car!
I love the GM&O paint scheme and GP30s too so add them together and I couldn't turn this one down.Below, locomotives in the process of getting right.
One thing I was looking for at the show and perhaps my only disappointment was the number of MP models. I felt that the show would have a large selection of MP models but they seemed to just hold their own number wise. I was hoping for more to admire.
A little explanation on MP 13610. If you are familiar with the MP caboose numbering scheme then you know there was never a LBW 13610. I nuumbered it that way because it is so wrong in so many areas. It is for me a good representation of a LBW until the time I can do better. After this meet that time may be rapidly approaching. Anyway, I like to take it around and photograph it on the layouts I visit as my traveling caboose. Here it is on the modular layout brought to Collinsville by the folks from Wisconsin. I'd like to thank them for letting me take the photos and tell them how much I enjoyed their efforts. Check out those GM&O GP38s.
G scale. What can I say, you have to be a "rivet counter" if you are in this scale (grin). Nice work.
The Atlas Extended Vision caboose model modified for the MP. Another nice job.
Mark Allen sent in these shots from the show. Thanks Mark.
Tom Stolte has his RPM shots up here if you want to see some more.
