To the Doniphan Branch Railway

Sitting in a park across from the old Missouri Pacific depot is MP 12407.
Here sits an exception to the numbering scheme and a good reason to own a copy of Cabooses of the Missouri Pacific Lines.
If you had your copy, you would be able to tell what 12xxx series number this caboose also wore, what 13xxx series number it wore and that it is originally a St Louis, Brownsville and Mexico caboose. While showing it's age, it still looks pretty good in this October 1991 shot.
Well none of that is correct either! It is a real joy trying to track these cars down. The above statement was made in looking the number up in the "Book" without comparing the photos to the cars in that number series. That creates errors. If you check page 175 of the "Book" you'll see identical photos of this type car from the KO&G railroad in their 1559-1554 series. Now to figure out how it got that number.
