One of the last pictures I took at Newark on 1993. For other pictures of this one:

What's left of the Newark wigwag...removed in 1994. The rubber hose really messed
up the way it swings...really jerky and slow.

The banner. Spliced with rubber hose. Badly dented. The lenses are the "ribbed" type made by General
Signals. They are plastic.

The guts. Notice the really old capacitor. Still has original builders plate. Lots of work needs to be done here...tons of rust.

This is how I got the old banner pipe removed. The two rivets were removed by punching them with the nail set tool.
The pipe slipped out after that.

New galvanized pipe in place of the old spliced pipe. Works much better this way.
Now I have to figure out a way to remove the stopper from the old pipe and have
it installed on this. The banner pipe will need to be cut at 27". Nut/bolt assemblies
will replace the two rivets. I also spent some time pounding out the dents.
